How do you begin to write new year's goals? What is the top priority? How do you narrow them down?
We are going to walk through how we decided our goals for 2022! It is never too late to set yours. So be inspired!
I began the year wanting to get past a few big mile markers. 2021 was insane for me. I changed careers, moved across the state, and began a totally new chapter of my life. The beginning of 2022 was engulfed with our wedding (yay!!) and a quick honeymoon and diving into the work of both of the new jobs that we got in 2021. With all of those crazy things going on, goal setting for 2022 was not at the top of our priority list. Now that life has slowed down a bit, we decided to reflect and put up new goals for this year.
While a few of these are health-related goals, many are outdoor goals. I'll share the motivation behind each one!
1. I, Carrie, will to weigh 125 pounds by summer 2022.
- I have been on a health kick for about 2 years now and I have lost about 40 pounds so far. (What?!) But I am definitely not where I'd like to be yet. I have set this goal because of our trip to Yellowstone at the beginning of summer. I want to be able to ENJOY all the views, hikes, and memories along the way. So I have set a number with that.
2. We both will to be able to hike up any mountain in Arkansas without having to stop!
- This goal!! This is a huge one and goes hand in hand with goal #1. Not only can we be better for ourselves, but also for our outdoor adventures.
3. We will to go camping for at least 25 nights this year.
- Luckily, our trip out west will give us 13 nights of camping! So we will get a good chunk of those nights on that trip. But that leaves another 12 nights to figure out while we are home in Arkansas. We just bought a rooftop tent and we are so excited to get to use that on our adventures. With the implementation of a new system that will make packing up as easy as 1 - 2 - 3 for us, we may be a bit more liable to go camping even if it is inconvenient.
4. We will stick to overall healthy eating habits for 2022.
- This has gotten so much easier over the past two years and I think that 2022 will mark the time that change took to pattern. We are very excited to be even better than before!
What are your goals for the year? Are they health related? Outdoor related? Maybe it's a personal mental health goal. Choose them!! It might be March, but it's not too late yet.
So go choose them and be inspired to chase them!!
