This series of Fernweh Diaries encompasses a few more days than the previous ones. Life has been a bit busy, and I have found myself out of time. So why not post one for two weeks rather than one? There are no rules here!
A highlight of these past two weeks was my stay at Thunder Mountain Cabin. Between longer stays at the cabin, I stayed in our rooftop tent, which was absolutely awesome.
With four miles of trails and river access down a series of 118 steps, I could have stayed here for days. And the fishing was oh so good. I can't wait to go back!
Since that stay a week and a half ago, I went and chased some red horse with my friend Skylar one day. It was unsuccessful. But we were glad to be able to see one still. They are such pretty fish.
But I was super glad to try out a new hat that I got off of amazon for fly fishing. It has two thumbs up from me! It covered my face and neck well. We were out all day and I didn't have a sun burn at all!
We ended up having a great day of sight fishing for some fish on smaller creeks in the Ouachita Mountains. Nothing we caught was huge, but it was very rewarding!
I always love going fishing with Skylar. She is always up for an adventure!
