The end of March has arrived, and for that, I am thankful.
March is typically a fast-paced month for us with lots of obligations. We are ready for fishing and camping season!
I was especially excited about the first camping trip of the season at Fancy Hill Cabins and RV Park in Fancy Hill, Arkansas. My friend, Skylar, and I took out on Sunday evening to enjoy a stellar campsite that sat creekside and visit with Jon and Renea.
Check out fancyhillcabinsandrvpark.comhttp://fancyhillcabinsandrvpark.com to book a stay just minutes away from a federally designated wild and scenic river, the Little Missouri.
Another fun adventure was attending The Fly Fishing Film Tour that was hosted by Arkansas Fly Fishers in Little Rock, Arkansas. I went to represent Native Fish Coalition - Arkansas. It was a fabulous time! I'm the current vice chair for the Arkansas chapter. I love the mission of Native Fish Coalition and had a fun time sharing what it was about 100 people at the event.
I was really excited to be wearing my NEW Native Fish Coalition hat (get yours online here!) and my Following the Fernweh sweatshirt! I even got to meet Stone Fly Nets!! Give him a follow on Instagram. He creates the most beautiful nets for fishing. (@stoneflynets)
This week was a reminder of how genuine and kind the outdoor community is in Arkansas. No matter how novice or experienced you may be in your craft, there are people that love to show you new techniques, create new memories, and have fellowship centered around what makes Arkansas so special. The main focus of the F3T this year was advocacy for the places we love most. Preserving these places include preserving the experiences we get to have in them. And whether you love fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking, paddling, or sitting on the porch listening to birds, you know that Arkansas is a unique spot to do it all. I'm really glad I got to spend some time with people who love the things I love and find common ground to work towards a better future.
Thank you to Jon and Renea for your warm hospitality, Native Fish Coalition for letting me be a part of something so incredibly worth doing, and for my friends who continue to encourage me to keep sharing content on Following the Fernweh! ❤️
Sending you all a warm and adventure filled April.
Be inspired + go
